Kristian has a passion for learning.

Dr. Kristian M. Veit is Plasticity Boom’s researcher-in-residence. After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he earned master’s and doctoral degrees in social and industrial-organizational psychology from Northern Illinois University. 
 
Dr. Veit has been a professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) since the fall of 2007. He teaches Introduction to Psychology, Basic Research and Statistics, Social Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and Career Paths in Psychology. At the undergraduate level, Kristian has also taught Freshman Connections, First-Year Seminar, History and Systems of Psychology, Advanced Research and Statistics, Theories of Personality, and Psychological Testing. For several years, he taught courses in research and statistics at the master's and doctoral levels.
 
He also oversees independent study Quantitative Research Projects (senior theses) for ONU's psychology bachelor of science degree. His students have been recognized by the Association of Nazarene Sociologists and Researchers and Psi Chi (the International Honor Society in Psychology) for their work. Having supervised over one hundred undergraduate research projects since 2007, ONU presented him with the 2023 Samuel L. Mayhugh Award for Scholarly Excellence (an annual award given to an ONU faculty member) at their 110th Commencement Convocation.
 
Dr. Veit’s research interests include job satisfaction, workplace loneliness, attitudes, work-family conflict, teaching, and personality. He frequently presents his work at the Midwest Psychological Association's Annual Meeting and the American Psychological Association's Annual Convention. 
 
He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Golden Key National Honor Society, the International Trumpet Guild, the Midwest Psychological Association, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Delta Lambda, the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology, and the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology. 
 
Kristian and his wife have three daughters. He enjoys exercising, pencil drawing, woodworking, and playing the trumpet in his spare time.
